La voz pasiva o passive voice en inglés, sirve para dar enfásis a la acción de la oración. En la voz pasiva el sujeto no es lo importante, sino lo que hace, hizo o hará. En el idioma inglés funciona de la misma manera que en español. Por ejemplo, en lugar de decir "Mi padre diseñó la torré de la ciudad" decimos "La torre de la ciudad fue diseñada por mi padre".
