About twelve or thirteen years ago I promised a comedy, but it was difficult: it takes a lot of misfortune to make me want to write something funny. Parts of this text were initially written on January 21, 1993.
The characters of Mary Shelley, which I have known through the various film versions of her work, have always been my favorites during my childhood and adolescence. The first time I thought of writing a not so serious piece “Igor” and “Dr. Frank” popped up from memory as my favorite option.
The title I imagined during this long period was something like: “the doctor, the monster, Igor and Dr. Frankenstein”; but any title works so I left it more similar to what it is now and it became “Igor and Dr. Frank's Monster”. With the names transformed into Vigor and Franco, (I have a friend, a chemical engineer, whose last name is Franco) “The Monster of Dr. Franco” was one of the last titles I adopted.
It was nothing definitive, and in this way it lost a bit of force, so I went back to the previous names, trying to preserve something or other. At least it is less pretentious than the previous hypotheses when I seriously thought about: "Frankstein by Victor Sant'Anna". Currently and still temporarily, I think "The Virtual Bride of Dr. Viktor Frankenstein" is much better than "Dr. Frank's Monster."
About the information so present in the dialogues, they are just indicators. Due to the lack of context, since some comic situations have not arisen from the text, but from traces of experiments in interpretation, it seemed prudent to keep the original idea at times. It should be noted that this text is a mosaic, almost like the monster in the play that inspired this comedy. At least three different personalities can be identified in Igor, my "alter ego", according to the time in which each excerpt was written. All the characters here are, in some way, myself.

Characters
Igor is the traditional horror movie research assistant, a mix of footman and butler, he wears a monk's robe, walks like a hunchback and drags one of his legs from time to time. Sometimes he uses a cane, a crutch and sometimes he can even use a wheelchair. Other times he walks perfectly, as if there were no abnormality. The same changes happen in the voice and in the attitude, sometimes he is smarter than Dr. Frank and, at other times, he behaves in a stupid way.
Dr. Frank is the scientist who created the monster. He has some exaggerated self-sufficiency traits; he is impatient with Igor, a bit of a snob, and usually acts like he belongs to a higher social class. He will normally wear a white coat (a “smock”) or something that evokes his activity as a scientist.
The monster, the third character, was created to be the surprise character. It will enter only at the end of the work and will remain covered by cloth until it is discovered near the end. It could be someone known to the audience, an actor from the supporting cast, or even a spectator chosen voluntarily before the presentation. It doesn't have any dialogue, it appears only at the end of the performance, so it's a role for a guest who isn't necessarily an actor.
Stage
It may be “light-hearted”, but I envisioned a highly equipped, sophisticated laboratory impossible to exist inside a house, as expected of an “alternative” laboratory, considering that castles are rare nowadays. However, all of the items – experience tables, wheelchairs, jars, and electronic equipment – could be replaced or eliminated altogether; they are just elements to compose the typical atmosphere of the films of the genre of the 30s, with the addition of some "modernities" such as the computer and the telephone
