el verbo ''to be'' tiene tres formas: am (ej. i am), is (ej. she is, he is, it is) y are (ej. we are, they are)
y si quieres pasarlo a pasado simple, tienes que poner en cada cosa was o were. SIEMPRE tienes que poner detrás de she, he y it el ''was'' Y SIEMPRE tienes que poner detrás de we y they ''were'' . Eso en la forma condicional.
Para que lo entiendas mejor: el WAS se emplea en she he it y I, porque solo hay una persona, y el WERE se emplea en we they y you porque hay más personas (en el you no se pone was)
