Ok guys let me explain to you how the first activity is going to work out:

You guys will read 3 sentences that are based on quotes of famous people, after that you will have to extract the different lexical categories:

Content words=

- Nouns

- Verbs

- Adjectives

- Adverbs

And you will also write down if you see any function words (the ones that are below), since in every text we find them a lot, and in various repetitions I only want you guys to tell me the ones that you found, and in any case you can mark them in their repetitions: the x 5 (that means that you can find that article 5 times in the text).

- Prepositions

- Conjunctions

- Interjections

- Articles

You have to do that with every sentence. For example:

"YOU SAY I'M ARROGANT, I SAY DAMN RIGHT. THAT'S PRIDE. PRIDE IN THE SAIYAN I AM." Vegeta

You: pronoun

Say: verb

I'm (I am): pronoun I + verb to be: am

arrogant: adjective

I: pronoun

say: verb

damn: adjective

right: noun

that's (article that + verb to be is)

pride: noun

in: preposition

the: article

Saiyan: noun

that: article

I: pronoun

am: verb to be

LIST OF SENTENCES:

1) One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know.

2) This small victories will always remind me of past times.

3) “That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
