ME PODRIAN AYUDAR

Read about the worst trip John has ever had and fill in the gaps with the verbs in brackets in Present Perfect, Past Simple or Past Continuous.

I am going to tell you about the worst trip I
(ever have) in my life...maybe something similar
(happen) to you.

My three friends and I were so excited about our ski trip to Switzerland that we had trouble sleeping the night before we were due to leave. We
(stay) in a hotel near the airport so we would be on time for the flight. We
(set) our alarms and booked a taxi before we went to bed, but we stayed up talking until really late. We
(miss) breakfast because we
(feel) so tired in the morning but we
(not mind) because we
known
(know) we could get something to eat at the airport.

I had never been skiing and so I
(not have) any skis, I
(plan) to hire some when we got there. My friends all had their skis, so the first problem came when the taxi driver refused to take us because he didn't have the correct equipment to put the skis on the roof of the car safely. He said we should have mentioned it when we
(book) the taxi. He called his office and they
(send) another car and although we were a little later than we had planned, we
(be) able to check in, leave the skis and then go and find something for breakfast.

We all
(choose) a cheese omelet because we were really hungry. It tasted a little strange but we finished, had a coffee and made our way to the departure gate to wait for the announcement to board the plane. I
(never like) waiting so I was glad that it wasn't long before we were called and so we followed the long line of people to the plane, showed our passports and boarding passes, and shuffled down the narrow aisle to our seats.

After we had collected our luggage we
(leave) the airport and looked for the mini bus that was going to take us to our apartment. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we decided to call the representative and ask what
(happen). She didn't know why our transport
(not waiting) for us, but
(tell) us that she would send a mini bus to get us straight away.

The apartment wasn't at all what we had reserved. It was small, old-fashioned and very cold. Our priority was heat. While we
(search) for the controls for the heating system we
(find) lots of old food and even some smelly socks. It was then that all of us
(begin) to feel pain in our stomachs. We all felt terrible and just wanted to get warm and go to bed. It was food poisoning from the strange-tasting omelet.

I
(not feel) as bad as I did that night in all my life, and I hope I never do again. We decided not to attempt skiing that day because we felt so weak. We
(not want) to eat anything, but in the afternoon we went for a short walk to see the rest of the resort and look for ski hire places. We also saw the office for the company we had booked with. We went in to complain about the apartment and the representative said we could change if we paid more money. We
(demand) that someone
(come) and fixed the heating because we didn't want to pay more (we intended to be out skiing or partying as much as possible anyway).

Of course, to make this the worst trip of my life, something else needed to go wrong. It was my first morning on the slopes and I
(have) a class with an instructor. While I
(watch) his demonstration, another skier came towards me at full speed and
(knock) me over. Yes, I
(break) my arm and couldn't ski any more.
