Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer. He was born in 1809 an died in 1849. He wrote poems, detective stories and thrillers. He lived in Baltimore, Maryland, for many years.

Today his house is a museum. However, the neighbours are scared od the place. An old lady who lives next door, for example said ro the local newspaper that last month she heard strange things, like doors and windows opening and closing on ther own.

Another neighbour also talked about one incident that happened in 1968. He explained that he called the police because there was a light in Poe's house. When the police arrived, they seen the light, it moved from the first floor to the second floor an then to the attic. But when the police entered the house, there wasn't anybody there. The neighbours thinked it was the ghost of Edgar Allan Poe because he always wrote in the attic!
