The evolution of communication in the human species is specifically linked to what defines our species as human. Communication, in principle, is not a differential feature of our species.

Currently, technological advances and the increasing availability of the Internet have accelerated and blurred the difference between the author of the information and the recipient of it. Information flows are now wide, diverse, reversible and accessible.
Technological advances have led the media to expand and contract at the same time.
Despite the great advantages of communication and information technologies and new media, there are considerable new challenges.
