a)  The past continuous of any verb is composed of two parts: the past of the verb "to be" (was/were) and the main verb stem +ing.

El "past continuous" de cualquier verbo está compuesto de dos partes: el pasado del verbo "to be" (was/were) (was solo se utiliza con I, she, it y he. Were se utiliza para los demás: you, they, we.) y después se añade la raíz del verbo principal +ing.
