La Región Caribe se caracteriza por su clima cálido y sus espectaculares playas. En su mayoría se compone de territorio plano, pero también alberga la formación montañosa litoral más alta del mundo: la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
¿Cuál es el baile típico de Caribe?
Sus ritmos más representativos, típicos además del folclor costeño, son la cumbia, la puya, el jalao, el garabato, el chandé, el porro, el bullerengue, el mapalé, el merecumbé, la guaracha y la Champeta, siendo esta última reconocida en toda la región Caribe por ser un género musical originario de las zonas afrodescendientes de la ciudad de Cartagena, en el departamento de Bolivar, vinculado con la cultura del corregimiento de San Basilio de Palenque.
