Hola, Jhosepvargas28:

EXERCISE 5

Change the sentences to the negative form.

A. [̲̅+̲̅]  The guitarist can play the guitar at the party today.

A₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  The guitarist cannot play the guitar at the party today.

A₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  The guitarist can't play the guitar at the party today.

B. [̲̅+̲̅]  Mom would borrow the shampoo, please. [??]

B₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  Mom would not borrow the shampoo, please.

B₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  Mom wouldn't borrow the shampoo, please.

C. [̲̅+̲̅]  The children must brush the teeth with toothpaste every day.

C₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  The children must not brush the teeth with toothpaste every day.

C₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  The children mustn't brush the teeth with toothpaste every day.

D. [̲̅+̲̅]  The dancer could dance valet❌ with his dad when she was a teenager.

Mejor:

D. [̲̅+̲̅]  The dancer could dance ballet with his dad when she was a teenager.

D₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  The dancer could not dance ballet with his dad when she was a teenager.

D₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  The dancer couldn't dance ballet with his dad when she was a teenager.

E. [̲̅+̲̅]  The journalist is with❌ covid 19❌, he should to❌ visit the doctor.

E. [̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist isn't with COVID-19, he shouldn't visit the doctor. ❌

Además, el primer verbo usado (*is with covid 19) es incorrecto.

Mejor:

[̲̅+̲̅]  The journalist has COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist does not have COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist doesn't have COVID-19; [...]

➺ El periodista no tiene COVID-19; [...]

O:

[̲̅+̲̅]  The journalist has got COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist has not got COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist  hasn't got COVID-19; [...]

➺ El periodista no tiene COVID-19; [...]

O:

[̲̅+̲̅]  The journalist has come down with COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist has not come down with COVID-19; [...]

[̲̅-̲̅]  The journalist hasn't come down with COVID-19; [...]

➺ El periodista no se ha enfermado de COVID-19; [...]

F. [̲̅+̲̅]  People may take the medicine after breakfast.

F₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  People may not take the medicine after breakfast.

F₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  People mayn't take the medicine after breakfast. (poco usado)

G. [̲̅+̲̅]  The man will travel to the planet Mars in the❌ 2023.

Correcto:

G₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  The man will not travel to the planet Mars in 2023.

G₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  The man won't travel to the planet Mars in 2023.

H. [̲̅+̲̅]  She buys the lottery. She can win much money. [?]

H₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  She does not buy the lottery. She cannot win much money.

H₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  She doesn't buy the lottery. She can't win much money.

➺ Ella no compra la lotería. No puede ganar mucho dinero. [?]

I. [̲̅+̲̅]  We may wear ---❌mask When❌ we go out at❌ the Street❌.

Mejor:

I. [̲̅+̲̅]  We may wear a mask when we go out in/to/into the street.

I₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  We may not wear a mask when we go out in/to/into the street.

I₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  We mayn't wear a mask when we go out in/to/into the street. (poco usado)

J. [̲̅+̲̅]  The Farmer can work on the Farm tomorrow.

Mejor:

J. [̲̅+̲̅]  The farmer can work on the farm tomorrow.

J₁. [̲̅-̲̅]  The farmer cannot work on the farm tomorrow.

J₂. [̲̅-̲̅]  The farmer can't work on the farm tomorrow.
