f the verb ends in “-e”, it disappears and “-ing” is added. ...

   If the verb ends in “-ic”, a “-k” is added followed by “-ing”. ...

   If the verb ends in “-ie”, these two letters disappear and “-y” is added followed by “-ing”.

Respuesta:

For verbs that end in -e, drop the -e before adding -ing. If they end in -ee, they make the gerund.

One-syllable verbs that have only one vowel and end in a consonant double that consonant before adding —ing.
