Which countries did Spanish people migrate
to in the second half of the 20th century?
Respuestas a la pregunta
It varied its main destinations from America to Europe, stopping as a consequence of the 1973 crisis, without later giving similar figures, given the economic boom that followed the entry into the European Community (1986). Despite the significant return of immigrants (especially from Europe), there are still significant colonies of Spaniards in different European and American countries, as well as their descendants born there. Without highlighting numerically, the emigration of university students who finish their scientific training abroad and who often do not return is especially relevant. The largest Spanish population outside of Spain is concentrated in Argentina, which has historically been the main destination for the waves of Spanish emigrants and is now again the main recipient of emigrants, along with other Spanish-American countries such as Mexico, due to the crisis.
