What Would I do Without It?
Today we have smartphones, tablets, the radio, and computers and none of those would be possible if some inventors had not developed everything that is related to electronics engineering and electricity. Although the two fields are different, they have in common that both involve transferring energy to turn on devices or machines. Below, is a list of the first 5 inventors that shaped Electronics Engineering with their inventions.
1. The French military engineer and physicist born in 1736, Charles-Augustin de Coulomb, was working on the theory of attraction and repulsion of bodies with the same and opposite electrical charge.
2. William Gilbert, born in 1544, was the first person to start using the word electricus while he was researching magnetism and static electricity. He was the most famous English scientist while Queen Elizabeth I was ruling in England.
3. Alessandro Volta, an Italian physicist, chemist, and pioneer of electricity and power, was born in 1745. He worked on
electronics engineering when he produced a battery that generated a steady current of electricity.
4. Benjamin Franklin, born in Massachusetts in 1706, was known as the Master of Electricity. He contributed a lot to the field of electricity. Franklin was flying a kite during a thunderstorm when lightning struck it. He was trying to prove that lightning and electricity are the same thing. This became his most famous experiment.
5. Luigi Galvani, born in Bologna in 1737, was the first person who worked with bioelectromagnetics. He was experimenting with a dead frog’s leg muscles when he discovered electrical patterns and signals from tissues, muscles, and nerves
