Mafalda is a female child character and the protagonist of a series or narrative of humor and politics that was initially published regularly in a newspaper in Argentina in the most agitated decades and of political crisis in this country in the mid-1960s until 1973, then , comic strips became popular in many countries especially in Latin America but also in Europe.

The author of these works, Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, died recently in 2020 in his hometown of Mendoza Argentina, and won many awards for the creation of this character, among which are the 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities , among many others.
