Respuesta:

Past continuos:

Past continuous is a tense that we use when an action that happened in the past has consequences in the time before now, ex. I was working as a cook in that restaurant.

Past simple.

Past simple is a tense that we use when an action have already happened, and we only mention it, ex. I worked as cook in a restaurant. In conclusion, the past simple describes an action in the past.

Diferences:

The past continuous, indeed, has a consequences in the present in a certain way, mean while, the past simple describes actions that has already happened in the past
