What are tsunamis?

Tsunamis are huge waves of water that are usually caused by earthquakes or volcanoes. As a tsunami approaches the shore, water might move back or away from the shore which could mean a tsunami is coming. You might be able to see this if you are on the beach. People usually give warning signs of tsunamis in the area.
