They say that, in an ancient kingdom, there lived a man who was known everywhere for his great wisdom. At first he only counseled his family and close friends. However, his fame grew so much that the sovereign himself called him frequently to consult him.
Every day many people came to receive his wise advice. However, the sage noticed that there were several who came every week. The worst thing is that they always told him the same problems and then listened to the same advice, but they did not put it into practice. Everything had turned into a vicious cycle.
One day, the sage gathered all those frequent consultants. Then he told them such a funny joke, it caused almost everyone to burst out laughing. Then he waited a while and told the same joke again. He kept counting it for three hours. In the end, everyone was desperate. Then the wise man said to them: "Why can't you laugh at the same joke several times, but you can cry a thousand times over the same problem."
