It was summer 2004. I was 12 years old and I was the catcher of my High School’s baseball team. I had played baseball for around 4 years and was good, but my team never won any prize, and I didn’t win any individual prize either. However, that year (2004) felt quite different. During the try outs, our team performed excellent, we had an awesome batting average and won most of the games. We made it to the playoffs and after very difficult games we reached the final. During all of those games, I had awesome performances, not only as a catcher but also as a batter, that’s why during the final game, in which we won the championship, I was awarded with the Most Valuable Player award, which is one of the most amazing things have ever happened to me.

One unfortunate event after another
I remember the time I went to the park with my family. We had a great time, we ate ice cream and of all that our views could see, we danced to the songs that were heard on the road. Everything was wonderful until my grandmother began to feel bad, we left quickly for the hospital.
Once we were in the hospital, we spent a few minutes in the waiting room. After that wait that seemed like years, the doctor came out to inform us that my grandmother had suffered a pre-heart attack. We all worry a lot but luckily it had not been so serious.
We returned home, we sat in the living room to watch television, my mom cooked some delicious macaroni and cheese while my dad went out to buy some sodas.
When the table was already set, we all sat down to eat, but my sister accidentally dropped her plate which broke and she cut her feet, Then she started screaming like crazy, my father had to go out with her again to the hospital, the rest of us stayed at home.
I got distracted watching television. I started watching the news and saw how they reported how there was a shooting at a school I was scared and at the same time I felt a great sadness because many innocent children had died.
