en español.;La sociedad sudafricana es multirracial, por eso al momento de diferenciar el origen de alguien debe tenerse mucho cuidado, existen descendientes de afrikáners y de británicos, a quienes no les da ninguna gracia que se les confunda. Actualmente el mestizaje es las áreas urbanas ha promovido la desaparición de la cultura pero aún existen tradiciones importantes.Cuando un hombre quiere casarse con una mujer, éste debe pagar una especie de dote, es una compensación que el novio hace a la familia de la mujer por quitarle una hija. La poligamia está permitida, los hombres la desean pero las mujeres se oponen generalmente; la poliandria también se practica pero es poco frecuente.Otra tradición conocida es la circuncisión artesanal que les hacen a los muchachos. Esto ocurre cuando se convierte en adulto, es entonces que su padre decide que está listo para ir a la “cabaña”, este período dura 6 semanas aproximadamente y sirve para que el joven aprenda las tradiciones de su etnia; esta preparación culmina con su circuncisión.Actualmente el país se está reinventando cada día, y en ese afán buscan retomar este espíritu artístico que les fue negado durante el Apartheid. Con ese objetivo podemos ver como el arte negro está llegando a las galerías y cómo su música está presente en los Festivales.
