En el presente simple, conjugamos al verb to be en tres maneras: am, is y are. Su uso depende del sujeto de la oración:

I → am

You, we , they → are

He, she, it → is

¿Cómo formamos una oración en presente simple con el verb to be?

Affirmative:

Sujeto + verb to be + complemento.

Ejemplos:

She is tired.

They are 13 years old.

Negative:

Sujeto + verb to be + not + complemento.

Ejemplos:

I am not good at basketball.

They aren't busy today.

Interrogative:

Verb to be + sujeto + complemento...?

Ejemplos:

Is she at home? Yes, she is / No, she isn't.

Are we lost? Yes, we are. / No, we aren't.

Recordá que podemos usar contracciones en la oralidad y de forma informal:

He's = he is

Isn't = is not

They're = they are

Aren't = are not

I'm = I am

Etc.
