First: 60% = 60/100 = 0.6
If the width is 60% of this length:
x = 0.6y ec. 1
2x + 2y = 280 ec. 2
replacing ec. 1 on ec. 2:
2*(0.6y) + 2y = 280
1.2y + 2y = 280
3.2y = 280
y = 280/3.2
y = 87.5
The length is 87.5m
On the ec. 1:
x = 0.6y
x = 0.6*87.5
x = 52.5
The width is 52.5m
Now the area of the field is:
A = L*W
A = 87.5 * 52.5
A = 4593.75
The field area is 4593.75 m²
