The united states Venezuela was the official name of the bolivarian Republic of Venezuela between 1864 and 1953. In 1830,when it is separated from great Colombia, the country's official name is identified with Republic of Venezuela.
It's first Capital was Valencia and It's first president José Antonio Páez.
In 1864, with the triumph of federalism, the official name became that of the united states Venezuela, and remained so until 1953, year in which it rebook the name of Republic of Venezuela.
