The length of the wire in an extended paper clip is 90 millimeters (mm). How many clips can be made from a 1.17-kilometer coil of wire?

NUMBER OF CLIPS = 1.17 / (90/10 000) = 130

Explicación paso a paso:

90mm = 90 / 10 000 Km = 9e-3 Km = 0.009 Km

Now you cal calculate how many clips you can obtain from a long wire of 1.17 Km length

In order to do that you have to divide the total length of wire by the length of a single clip

#clip = 1.17 Km / 0.009Km = 130
