Everyone Can Do It

Gitanjali Rao is a 15 -years old inventor. She studies at a STEM school.
She is from Colorado, The United States of America. In 2021 , the Times magazine nominated Gitanjalo as: The Kid of The Year. Let's learn more about her.

Gitanjali, why are you concerned about water?
I am concerned about water because I learned that there is water crisis in the word. Water is contaminated with lead. It is dangerous for people and animal' s health. We need clean water and make it safe for everyone.

What did you invent?
I invented Tethys. Tethys is the goddess of fresh water . It is a mobile app tester. It tests how much lead there is in water. So , we can consume safe water .

How can we use water better?
What should we do?
People water plants when it is sunny. This is not good.
We should water them in the afternoon, at night or very early in the morning. Use grey water to water to water the plants .Also, we should check the taps and toilets regularly. We should fix the leaks in our house.

What final message do you have for young people?
If I can do it, you can do it, and everyone one can do it.

Max, why are you concerned about water?
I am concerned about water because studies say that in 2040, 33 countries in the world will
not have enough water. We will not have water to do our daily activities.

What did you invent?
I invented " Yawa " . It is an un conventional sustainable technology. Yawa helps communities access water from atmosphere humidity.

How can we use water better?
What should we do?
People take long showers. You should take quick showers. Also, you should brush your teeth with the tap off and wash all your clothes once a week.

What final message do you have for young people?
Act for nature. Right here. Right now.
