1- We use THERE IS and THERE ISN'T with singular nouns.

"Usamos THERE IS y THERE ISN'T con sustantivos singulares"

ej:

  • ej: There is a museum (Hay un museo)
  • ej: There is a museum (Hay un museo)There isn't a museum (NO hay un museo)

  • There is a cat (Hay un gato)
  • There is a cat (Hay un gato) There isn't a cat (NO hay un gato)

  • There is a house (Hay una casa)
  • There is a house (Hay una casa)There isn't a house (NO hay una casa)

2- We use THERE ARE and THERE AREN'T with plural nouns.

"Usamos THERE ARE y THERE AREN'T con sustantivos plurales"

Ej:

  • There are stores (Hay historias)
  • There are stores (Hay historias)There aren't stores (NO hay historias)

  • There are stores (Hay historias)There aren't stores (NO hay historias)There are a lot of schools (Hay muchas escuelas)
  • There are stores (Hay historias)There aren't stores (NO hay historias)There are a lot of schools (Hay muchas escuelas)There aren't a lot of schools (NO hay muchas escuelas)

THERE IS Y THERE ARE: son la traducción de HAY en español. Sólo que en inglés se diferencia si estamos diciendo que hay una sola cosa o más de una sola cosa.

IS ----- Singular

IS ----- SingularARE ---- Plural

There

THERE ISN'T y THERE AREN'T: Son la traducción de NO HAY al español. Y sucede lo mismo q lo anterior:

ISN'T ------ Singular

ISN'T ------ SingularAREN'T------- Plural
