PETER AND THE WOLF
COMPLETE THE TEXT USING THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE OF THE VERBS

Peter __________ (be) a Young boy who __________(live) in a small village in the Russian countryside. He _________ (not have) a father or a mother so he __________ (live) with his grandfather. The people of the village _______ (ask) Peter to take the sheep to the meadows.
So early in the morning he _____ (walk) with lots of sheep around him. During the day he _______ (look) after them and he even ______ (count) them. He ______(play) his flute, ______ (climb) up the trees and he even _____(talk) to the sheep but they (do not answer) him of course. So he ______(feel) very lonely and bored up in the mountains.
One day _____(have) and idea to try and have some fun. He _______(decide) to play a trick on the people of the village. He _____(cry) as loud as he ______(can): “Wolf, Wolf, please help me!”
Some men and women______(get) out of their houses and ______(run) up to the hills to help Peter. But when they ________(arrive) there, there _____(be) no wolf at all. Peter ______ (laugh) like crazy at the villagers but they ______ (not be) very pleased with him. And they ______(go) back home.
