Benedict Cumberbatch was born in England. He became famous when the TV show Sherlock came out in 2010. Last year he starred as Doctor Strange , so he became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He played several other intelligent people in films after playing Sherlock Holmes. For example, he played Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. He was even nominated for an Oscar for that movie. He also plays villains sometimes. He played villain Khan in the second Star Trek movie. He even voiced the dragon, Smaug, in the Hobbit movies.
I think he is a very interesting person. When he was young he traveled to Tibet and taught English to people in a monastery. He married teather director Sophie Hunter in 2015 and they had a baby that same year.
