The Holy Week in Spain is celebrated with the outing to the street of processions organized by brotherhoods or brotherhoods. The manifestations of faith are influenced by tradition, which is once linked to the customs of each people.1
Holy Week coincides with the last week of Lent of the Catholic calendar. Although Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday, the specific commemorations in Spain begin on Holy Monday and end on Easter Sunday.2 It is sometimes called Semana Mayor.2 The procession until Holy Saturday is called the penitence season . The processions that take place on Easter Sunday are not the son of penance, but glory. The procession has a few steps, called steps - in some places called "thrones" -, on which they process sculptures with the evangelical characters related to the arrest, death and resurrection of Christ. The brothers of the cofradias who participate in the procession loose to make dresses with robes and conical caps covered with a cloth that serve as antifaz. These brothers are often known as Nazarenes or penitents.
Some celebrations in concrete enclaves have received recognition of International or National Tourist Interest. Holy Week in Spain is on an expedition to be declared in the representation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
