Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar Palacios Ponte y Blanco was born in the city of Caracas (Venezuela), July 24, 1783 dying on December 17, 1830; in the Quinta San Pedro Alejandrino in the city of Santa Marta (Colombia), this warrior son of Spaniards was conferred the title of "Libertador" (Liberator), is the greatest figure of the emancipating deed of the American continent against the Spanish crown.
With his various battles he liberated Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia; his greatest dream was to see America united and he founded Gran Colombia.
