From small we are used daily to admire the wonders of plants and flowers, we like to interact with pets and how to care for them, feed them and protect them. In many cases, we encariñamos with them as if they were part of our family. Also from our childhood we marvel at those animals that are wild and moving gracefully by our surroundings or far away looking for food. To them we can see them in places specially equipped for that as zoos or botanical gardens and human knowledge must maintain, conserve and care for these places and their inhabitants accordingly. Nature is also present when we look at the landscape and we were amazed by its beauty, when it rains and watched the drops fall into our window. Sometimes we are frightened by thunder and frighten us very violent and dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, tsunamis or earthquakes. The feelings generated by nature are endless. All this proves that our life is in direct relationship with nature and although sometimes we think we no longer need, she is in everything and we must take care. Besides being part of our daily life, nature also sets the support and the base of the field of study Biological Sciences, having interference for it in all matters relating to living beings and all that has been created without the intervention of the hand of man, including the inert matter.
All these elements since time immemorial are analyzed and investigated by different human societies are those that have allowed the creation and perfection of scientific study: hypothesis generation, data collection and information, verification and affirmation or denial of that hypothesis. The scientific method is in full force for natural and biological sciences. But science does not seek only to understand natural elements alone, isolated, but is interested in the plant and animal species, how they interact and conduct their activities modifying each other, resulting in a balance that is called ecosystem and it is relative to the environment in which they operate and have this feature. In addition to studying living beings, the natural sciences are concerned and interested in the planet Earth, our home and the home of all living things, the changes it has had throughout history and how its inhabitants suit their characteristics.
