El verbo to be significa ser o estar, por ello se ocupa mucho en el ingles, Cada pronombre tiene su verbo to be:

I am with my mom (Yo estoy con mi mamá)
My mom is 55 years old (Mi mamá tiene 55 años) Ojo en esta oración el verbo Tener en ingles es Have Y Has pero no es correcto decir:
My mom Has 55 years old. en lugar de has es IS

PARA PREGUNTAS SE CAMBIA DE LUGAR EL VERBO TO BE Y EL PRONOMBRE:
