A place with a view, a nice patio, and an orchard. The home should have a nice master suite, bathroom, a large shower that is wheelchair accessible, and a deep soaking tub. The kitchen should have plenty of space with an efficient layout and a workroom for 2 to 4 people to actively participate in food preparation. A professional six-burner gas stove, double ovens, and two refrigerators. The main living room opens to the kitchen but is separated by a bar/bar that seats 4-5 people.  

As I prefer an efficient building plan, a two-story seems sensible. One of the downstairs bedrooms should have a roll-away or fold-out bed, but it would be primarily a library/entertainment room. We don't have many guests our age, but the second room on the ground floor should be a dedicated bedroom. Another full bathroom and a couple more storage areas would be nice. An elevator is not necessary now, but as we age on-site, it could come in handy in the future. Thus, an elevator shaft could be envisaged, with spaces created for storage until an elevator is needed. The ground floor space would be completed with a three-bay garage, a storage bay, and a workbench.

I almost forgot! A large terrace on the upper floor, to entertain friends and enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Olympic Mountain Range.
