1- mr ford was reading the newspaper when the telephone rang. he picked up the receiver but nobody answered. the phone rang all the night long. he picked it up several more times and anybody answered. however, he could hear some strange noises which were spine-chilling. it stopped ringing when the sun rised. so mr ford could sleep until midday
