➤ PAST PERFECT

➜ El 'past perfect' se usa para expresar hechos, acciones o estados pasados que sucedieron antes de otros hechos, acciones o estados pasados, que generalmente se expresan en 'past simple'.

➜ Para escribir un verbo en 'past perfect' se deben usar el auxiliar 'HAD' (cualquiera sea el sujeto) y el participio pasado del verbo principal.

➜ En las oraciones afirmativas cuyo sujeto es un pronombre puede usarse la contracción «'d» (= had).

➜ En las oraciones negativas puede usarse la contracción negativa «hadn't» (= had not).

a) Yes/No Questions:

b) Wh-Questions:

• [̲̅?̲̅] Wh-word + auxiliar 'HAD' + sujeto + participio pasado del verbo principal + complementos + ?  

➜ Past perfect – Interrogative Negative:

NOTA:  

• Si el verbo es regular, el participio pasado se forma añadiendo la terminación '-ed'/'-d' al infinitivo (= forma base) del verbo.  

• Si el verbo es irregular, no hay un patrón fijo. ☹️ Hay que aprender el participio pasado de memoria, o buscar su forma en un diccionario o en la tercera columna de cualquier tabla de verbos.
