(Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela; Mvezo, Transkei, 1918-Johannesburg, 2013) a South African activist and politician who led the anti-apartheid movements and who, after a long struggle and 27 years in prison, presided in 1994 the first government to put an end to the racist regime. The twentieth century left two world wars, the extermination camps and the atomic terror, but also great champions of the fight against injustice, like Mahatma Gandhi or Martin Luther King.
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African activist, lawyer and politician of the 20th and 21st centuries (he was born on July 18, 1918 and died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 95) known mainly for:
- Fight peacefully against racial segregation in South Africa.
- Establish a democratic political model in South Africa.
- To be the president of the Republic of South Africa between 1994 and 1999.
