Nikola Tesla nació en Smiljan, en el Imperio Austríaco (actual Croacia), en el año de 1856.
Se graduó de Doctor en Ciencias en la Universidad Carolina de Praga y en la Universidad Técnica de Graz. Durante su carrera hizo gran cantidad de inventos, entre ellos la corriente eléctrica alterna, la bombilla fluorescente y el telescopio.
Murió en el año 1943 en Nueva York, a los 86 años de edad.
