SHAKESPEARE, William (1564 - 1616)
William Shakespeare, who is perhaps the greatest writer in the history of the world, was looked upon in his own day as little more than a maker of popular plays .
He was born in1564 in the little English town of Stratford on the river Avon.
At 18 he married a woman named Anne Hathaway. They had three children, Anna and later twins :Hammer and Judith.
At 1592 Shakespeare had writen several plays.
His greatest popular succes was a series of three plays called Henry VI, which gave a patriotic and very one-sided view of the English wars against the French.
During the reign of King James, Shakespeare wrote three of his greatest tragedies: Macbeth, Antony and Cleopatre and King Lear.
But, he is remember by his popular Romeo and Julieta
He died in 1616
