Te dejaré el procedimiento en inglés, así te libras de la parte compicada que es traducir el proceso.
To make a home-made candle we will need the following materials.
- A casting tube mold. Doesn't matter the size, but the recommended is 6 cms long x 15 cms wide.
- 65° Paraffin Wax.
- Candle stearin.
- Candle artificial colors. This is optional.
- Aromatic essences, also an optional material.
- Candle waxed wicks
- Molding cast release.
- Wood pole stick.
- Iron wick holder
- Guide Rod for candle wicks.
We start up by melting the paraffin wax and the stearin in a 70%-30% proportion, according to the needed ammount of both and the number of candles to make.
When both materials are almost melted, turn off the flame and let the bowl to finish the meltdown. This is also the moment to give our candle a scent and color, so we put the essence and the artificial color on it, just in case you wanted it that way.
We will need a plain and clean base to put the tubular casting mold on it, and previously covered in mold release.
We take the wood stick and make a hole with the guide rod trying not to break the pole stick. After that we put the guide rod with the pole over the mold, with the guide rod inside of it.
With the wax already in melted state, we put a little bit of it inside the mold, let it cool and harden, and after that the rest of content. That way we avoid to lose material from the bottom of the mold.
We retire the guide rod and the candle already cold, there comes the time to insert the waxed wick inside, we cut the necessary wick longitude and put it inside the iron wick holder. After we insert the wick with it's holder very secured and holded inside the candle. The best way to do so is to tie up the wire in the guide rod, and insert all together, that way, the wick will enter easily.
And there you go, you home-made candle.
