1) una mañana huguie visita a su amigo trevor que estaba ocupado pintando un cuadro de un mendigo el tenia un cara larga, triste y llevaba un viejo abrigo delgado marron que tenia un numero de agujeros en ello.
2) huguie le dice a su amigo trevor que maravilloso modelo tiene una cara de un cuadro por un pintor famoso español o holandes velasquez o rembrandt estoy seguro que esto le ayudara a vender su cuadro por mucho dinero
3) pasado algun tiempo un criado entra y le dice a trevor que lo estaba esperando el señor que hizo los marcos el dice volvere en dos minutos
4) huguie se compadecio del anciano y le pasa lo poco de dinero que el tenia para casarce con laura
5) trevor vuelve y huguie se marcha a la casa de laura contandole lo ocurrido lo cual hace que laura se enoje y lo trata de estupido
