What is the 3r rule: reduce, reuse and recycle

The three Rs (3R) is a rule to take care of the environment, specifically to reduce the volume of waste or garbage generated. This rule must be included in the decalogue of the socially responsible company. This is also known as The 10 Actions of a Socially Responsible Company (ESR).

3R The rule of the three Rs (Reduce Recycle and Reuse) In short, the 3Rs help you to litter less, save money and be a more responsible consumer, thus reducing your carbon footprint. And best of all, it is very easy to follow, since it only has three steps: reduce, reuse and recycle.Regla de las 3r: reducir

When we talk about reducing what we are saying is that we should try to reduce or simplify the consumption of direct products, that is, everything that is bought and consumed, since this has a direct relationship with waste, at the same time that also has it with our pocket. For example, instead of buying 6 small bottles of a drink, you can get one or two large ones, having the same product but less packaging to worry about.

Rule of 3r: reuse

When we say reuse, we are referring to being able to reuse things and give them the greatest possible use before it is time to get rid of them, since by reducing the volume of garbage.

This task is usually the one that receives the least attention and is one of the most important, which also helps the economy a lot at home.

Rule of 3r: recycle

The last of the tasks is to recycle, which consists of the process of subjecting the materials to a process in which they can be reused, reducing in a truly significant way the use of new materials, and with it, more garbage in a future.

The societies of the world have always produced waste, but it is now, in the consumer society, when the volume of garbage has grown exorbitantly. In addition, its toxicity has increased to become a very serious problem. We are immersed in the culture of use and disposal, and in the garbage of every day are the resources that we will soon miss.

Each citizen generates on average 1kg. of garbage per day, which gives 365 kg. per person per year, and in turn 40,150,000,000 kg. per year in Mexico. This domestic waste goes to landfills, ravines, the street and sometimes incinerators.

A good part of this garbage, 60% of the volume, is made up of containers and packaging, mostly single-use, normally manufactured from non-renewable raw materials, or that, although renewable, are being exploited at a rate higher than that of their regeneration (eg wood for the manufacture of cellulose), and hardly recyclable once they have been used.

To the above we have to add that in the home there are also residues derived from paints, solvents, insecticides, cleaning products. All this garbage can be taken to landfills, but it occupies a lot of land and pollutes soil and water. Incinerating it is not the solution either, as atmospheric pollutants are emitted and very toxic ash and slag are produced. It is, in short, that

L et's put into practice the three R's slogan, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, in this order of importance.
