Our grandparents dedicated themselves, mostly and from sunrise to sunset, to working in the fields. Mechanization did not exist. They also did not have electricity or running water in their homes. Some interpretation centers in La Hoya de Huesca make it possible to approach that reality and the changes that have occurred in recent decades. A short distance from Castilsabás, next to the Viñedo hermitage and surrounded by olive groves, stands an ethnographic complex of great value, an oil mill that shows the traditional production of oil. In Almudévar, a town with numerous wineries dug into the hills, the “El Bodegón” space delves into traditional winemaking. For its part, in Salillas there is a refrigerator or ice well, closed by a dome with spectacular ribs, which tells us about the storage of ice or snow for food preservation, soft drinks or therapeutic use. Finally, the source of the Moors is a monumental well-source in Albero Alto, medieval testimony of the search and conditioning of the most precious resource: water.
