Past simple
Lo usamos cuando queremos indicar algo que ya pasó completamente.
Por ejemplo, en español diría "Yo comí ayer" y en inglés "I ate yesterday"
El past simple significa que sólo tienes que usar la forma más simple del verbo en pasado.
Present perfect simple
Lo usamos cuando queremos indicar algo que empezó antes y continúa ahora, eventos recientes y experiencias pasadas.
Por ejemplo, en español diría "Hemos estado despiertos desde ayer y en inglés" We have been up since yesterday"
El present perfect significa que tienes que usar el verbo "have" + el verbo que defina que acción es.
