Read the following passage and find the positive and negative effects of human intervention in
our planet.
Both sides of human intervention Humans have inhabited the planet for about 2 million years and during this time many events have occurred. Human intelligence has created several things; many of them have helped humanity face diseases and threats. Discoveries and inventions such as vaccines and antibiotics have saved thousands of lives. The printing press has allowed us to share more knowledge and transportation has helped us move around the world and trade with other countries. Technology has shortened distance in communication and informs us in seconds of events all around the world. However, not all inventions are positive. Other discoveries like technology used for war and mass destruction, as well as nuclear, chemical, or biological bombs are extremely dangerous and might lead humans to extinction. Industry causes high levels of pollution and releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and lots of toxic chemicals are dumped into rivers and seas. Global warming is a reality. Everyday activities such as producing our food or commuting, using plastic, large-scale fishing, monoculture plantations, among others; are destroying our planet little by little. We hear about hundreds of plant and animal species that are endangered or even extinct.
Make a list of all positive and negative developments found in the passage.

Positive Effects:

1. Vaccines: They help to prevent different diseases caused by virus
2. Antibiotics: These is a medicine that cures infections
3. Printing Press: The printing press is one of the best inventions created by the human being, because it help to spread news and information all around the world
4. Transportation: This has improved the way people move all over the world
5. Technology: Technology has made easier for people to communicate and share news within seconds.

Negative Effects

1. Bombs: Bombs are the caused of thousand and million of deaths in many countries
2. Technology used for war: Humans have created different weapon that could lead to the extinction of the human being
3. Pollution caused by industries: Industries are making high levels of pollution causing the contamination of seas, rivers and the atmosphere.
4. Global warming: Global warming is slowly destroying our planet
