Agatha Christie is one of the most famous crime story writers of all time. She was born in Devon, in the UK, in 1890. Her parents didn’t send her to school, but they taught her to read and write. They also taught her math and music. When she was a child she loved to read. Later, she worked in a hospital during World War I.After the war, she got married and moved to London with her husband. It was then that she started writing, but she found it difficult to get her book published. Finally, in 1920, her first book was published. Many people bought it and it was a big success. She went on to write over sixty books before her death in 1976. She also wrote many short stories, including some for television and radio. Her books and stories have been translated into more than one hundred languages. She is one of the most successful writers of all time because people all over the world read her books.
