Many people were the mess the local play park was in, and felt themselves for letting it get so bad. But one girl, Caitlin Davis, got together with a group of fellow pupils who were chance to help out in the neighbourhood. They cleared the rubbish and repainted. Local builders volunteered staff, who were more than fixing the play equipment to safe building standards. It turned out well for Caitlin, too. The local council were so the project that they offered Caitlin a £1,000 grant. The money was her carrying on with the project in another park. It just goes to show that popular belief, young people are keen to help others. Caitlin says that she is making sure this project makes a real difference to the community. ​
