Perseus and Medusa (part one)

Polydectes was the king of Seriphos. He had fallen in love with a beautiful

woman called Danae and he (1) _________ to marry her. Danae had a son. His

name was Perseus. Polydectes hated Perseus. He gave him a dangerous

mission. Perseus had to bring the king the head of the gorgon Medusa.

Medusa had once been a beautiful woman, but one day she (2) ___________

hair. Medusa lived in a secret cave with her sisters. She had terrified powers. If

cape to make him invisible. Finally, they had given him shoes with wings, and a

bag to carry Medusa’s head.

First, Perseus had to find the secret cave. He flew to the home of three old

women. They shared one eye and one tooth. Perseus wore his cape of
