Later, when everyone else was talking and laughing, Laurie went to speak to Jo. She was sitting on her own in a corner of the room. 'What's the matter, Jo?' he said. 'You don't look very happy." 'I'm sad because I'm going to lose my best friend,' she replied, and sighed deeply. 'But you've got me,' Laurie said. 'I'm your friend, too, you know.' 'I know, Laurie. Thank you. And you're a very good friend.' She looked around the room at her family and friends. They were all happy. It was a pleasant sight and she started to smile. She didn't want to think about the future. She wanted to enjoy the moment and remember it forever.
