Once upon a time there was a boy named Jack who lived with his poor, widowed mother. They sold almost everything they had to buy food. When his last cow stopped giving milk, Jack's mother sent him to town to sell the cow.

On the way to town Jack met a strange man who used to tell him stories about magic beans. "Where can I buy some magic beans for my mother?" Asked Jack.

"I have the last five magic beans and I will sell them to you because I see that you are a good boy," said the stranger smiling at Jack.

"Well, I have nothing but this old cow and we need it to sell and buy"

The man replied, "Trust me, my son, these grains will bring you food and fortune and your mother will be proud."

Jack hesitated but eventually traded the cow for the beans. When Jack returned to her mother's house, she was furious and crying she threw the beans out the kitchen window. Jack went to bed that night sad and hungry.

He woke up the next morning to find a huge stem growing in the garden. "The beans are really magic!", He exclaimed.

Jack saw the stem reaching into the clouds. He remembered stories about the clouds that contained gold and began to climb the stem to see what he could find.

He went up and up. When he reached the top, he saw a huge castle and headed for it.

The door was so big that Jack could crawl under it. Once inside he saw a giant devouring his dinner. When the giant finished eating he called his servant and asked her to bring him his bag of gold coins.

As the giant counted the money he began to doze off and later sleep.

Jack slipped up to the giant and took his bag of gold from him. He came down the giant stem with his money and when he was down he called his mother.

Jack's mother was very happy because that money was the same money that the giant had stolen from Jack's father many years ago. But she was also afraid because she knew how dangerous the giant was and made Jack promise that she would never return.

While Jack made the promise, after a while the money started to run out. Jack began to wonder if he would find something else in the castle.

Once again, Jack decided to climb back up the giant stem and enter the castle. He again he reached the castle and went under the door.

And he once again found the giant eating at his table. However this time when the giant had finished he called the magic chicken from him.

Jack was surprised when he saw the hen lay a pure golden egg. And while the giant watched the hen he again made him sleepy and fell asleep. Jack slipped silently to the table and picked up the hen.

When he returned home his mother was very angry that Jack had returned to the castle. She grabbed Jack's ax and tried to cut the stem.

Jack told her that she didn't and showed her how the hen could lay golden eggs. Jack's mother dropped the ax and worked with delight as the hen laid a beautiful golden egg, one after another.

After a while Jack's curiosity got the better of him and he again thought about what else he could find in the castle.

Once again, Jack decided to climb back up the stem and return to the castle. He again in front of the castle he got under the door. And once again he found the giant eating at his table.

And again when the giant finished this time he called on his magic harp. Jack watched as the harp began to play beautiful music on its own.

The music was so beautiful that in no time the sleeping giant began to sleep again.

Jack slipped silently to the table.

But as soon as he picked up the harp, it began to play very loud in his strange hands and the giant woke up.

"Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum," the giant yelled and chased after the boy and his harp. Jack ran to the stalk and slid down.

He could feel the stem shake as soon as the giant began to descend. Luckily his ax was close to him and he began to cut down the stem.

The stem jerked and cracked from the weight of the giant and Jack's cuts.Respuesta:
