Everything began. Pre- Cambrian: It started about 4.6 billion years ago. The Earth was formed in the beginning of this era. The air was very toxic. The first one-celled living beings appeared, and then multicelled and more complex beings. They lived in water. Paleozoic: It was a time of great changes in the planet and it is subdivided in 6 periods: Cambrian: First shellfish, primitive fish, corals, algae and mollusks were dominant in the oceans. Ordovician: First land plants and initial fish appeared. Silurian: First insects emerged and more plants were on land. Devonian: The first sharks appeared, as well as bony fish. Amphibians and spiders and the first terrestrial forests started colonizing land. Carboniferous: The first reptiles and insects with wings appeared on land. Permian: Diverse animal and plant life appeared; reptiles diversified. Then there was a mass extinction. Oxygen was not always present on our planet as it is now. In the beginning, toxic gases were all around and some primitive bacteria lived and developed in that environment. Ancient cyanobacteria appeared and released oxygen into the environment for so long and formed the atmosphere. This caused other primitive bacteria to die. It was the beginning of photosynthesis.

Todo empezó. Precámbrico: comenzó hace unos 4.600 millones de años. La Tierra se formó al comienzo de esta era. El aire era muy tóxico. Aparecieron los primeros seres vivos unicelulares, y luego seres multicelulares y más complejos. Vivían en el agua. Paleozoico: Fue una época de grandes cambios en el planeta y se subdivide en 6 periodos: Cámbrico: Primeros moluscos, peces primitivos, corales, algas y moluscos dominaron los océanos. Ordovícico: aparecieron las primeras plantas terrestres y los peces iniciales. Silúrico: Surgieron los primeros insectos y había más plantas en la tierra. Devónico: aparecieron los primeros tiburones, así como peces óseos. Los anfibios y las arañas y los primeros bosques terrestres comenzaron a colonizar la tierra. Carbonífero: Los primeros reptiles e insectos con alas aparecieron en tierra. Pérmico: Aparecieron diversos animales y plantas; reptiles diversificados. Luego hubo una extinción masiva. El oxígeno no siempre estuvo presente en nuestro planeta como lo está ahora. Al principio, los gases tóxicos estaban por todas partes y algunas bacterias primitivas vivían y se desarrollaban en ese entorno. Aparecieron antiguas cianobacterias que liberaron oxígeno al medio ambiente durante tanto tiempo y formaron la atmósfera. Esto provocó la muerte de otras bacterias primitivas.
