There are several types of sentences that can be verb to be, regular and irregular. Here we will focus only on those of the "verb to be" type that are characterized by including the verbs "was" and "were", the first of these being the singular version and the second the plural.

We will do this first division according to the pronouns in English:

When we use “was” (first form of the past simple verb to be) we start the sentences with I, He, She or It.

To use the "were" in sentences, we must use it together with You, They or We.

Example to understand it better:

- I was at the concert

- They were at the concert

The meaning has the same meaning for both sentences, plural and singular; the only change is the grammatical structure.

NEGATIVE FORM OF WAS AND WERE

To make the formation of the negative sentence, we are going to add the term NOT. We can even do contractions. Here, some examples.

- I was not at the concert | The contraction would be: I wasn't at the co
